Huskies Lose to Orange in Big Apple

Freshman Donte Greene scored 25 points and No. 21 Syracuse overcame some poor free-throw shooting over the final two minutes for a 91-85 victory over Washington in the third-place game of the NIT Season Tip-Off on Friday.

The Orange (4-1) were able to hold a double-figure lead for most of the second half thanks to their defense. Syracuse had 12 steals in forcing 21 turnovers and the Orange were able to convert many of those into easy transition baskets.

Reading the comments on dawgman, turnovers will again be the bugaboo of this team, although I was surprised the game was so close with Brockman out for much of it. I do like the way they are staying with some good teams but it sadly reminds me of the football team's situation. Young and with promise...

I doubt the WSU game will be on over here this morning. A&M/OSU basketball was on yesterday but not the Huskies. Boise St./Hawaii was fun to watch. I think we'll definitely have our hands full unless we can steamroll them like we did Cal. Keep the ball out of Brennan's hands.

I'm trying your fried chicken recipe tonight. I found some instant buttermilk and had everything but the celery salt. I used celery seed instead. Spices smell fantastic...just waiting on the bird to finish marinating.

Happy Thanksgiving Dick!

It think the BB team will be fine as the season goes on, they just need to get Venoy settled down and things will be fine.

I think Venoy is the best looking frosh point guard I have seen in some time. He is already way ahead of Will Conroy when he was that age.

I hope you like the chicken, we made it at the end of Summer and it turned out pretty well.

Fried chicken is one of theose simple things you could spend the rest of your life perfecting.

I agree about Venoy and Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Hope you had a good one. Venoy was a lot of fun to watch against A&M and I'll bet SC is bummed. I like that he has a chip on his shoulder, or at least plays like he does.

First attempt was a tasty failure with the chicken...learning how to use a new deep fryer and yes, you can spend years perfecting it, but you gave me a great head start. I've already got the second try thawing because the first was good even with my screwups.

We all tend to make the coating to thick....I think thinner is better. It is fun to experiment. I think the deep fryer is the way to go rather than the frying pan.
