It's Official....Baer and Simmons Gone

It is now official from the UW, Baer, and Simmons are gone. Both coaches have spent the last three years at Washington and served on Willingham's staff at Notre Dame prior to moving to Seattle. Baer has spent a total of 13 years as an assistant under Willingham, which included seven years at Stanford University. Prior to his stint at Notre Dame, Simmons served as the head football coach at Oklahoma State University from 1995-2000. It looks like Tormey, Hart, and Williams are being retained since UW made the announcement official.

Johnb, the gods have been appeased for now. Its time to let the healing begin in Husky Nation. With a winning season, TW may have bought himself that fifth year. I really never thought he would can his friends but would fall on his sword out of spite. Whoever the new DC is could really make himself a hero quickly merely by upping the aggressiveness factor a tad. For awhile, I think husky fans would overlook the big play touchdown as long as we tried to go after the opposing teams QB in the right situation.
What a year, its given great business to DMan, and the other media sites. Now we can speculate on the new coaches.

We really need some updated thinking on the defensive side of the ball.

For hair of the Dawg: wishing you a merry christmas and a happy new year over there. When do you plan on coming back to the land of the big BX?.

Thanks pb. The same to all the readers and of course, our host. I was hoping to come back in February for a 7's rugby tournament in San Diego. The US team is doing surprisingly well. I knew they were close from watching them in Dubai, but they did really well in South Africa. I still have to wait on a couple of things to decide on that though.

Happy holidays everyone!!

Nearly as important is the new RB coach. We have some good young talent that needs to be developed.

Merry Christmas to Hair as well from just down HWY 507. Lapanno has coached RB's at other stops and I think getting a QB coach for Jake would not be a bad idea. Jake's throwing didn't seem to improve over the course of the season. I wonder how many months it will take Ty to get new coaches in place? It's not like there isn't an available pool already.
Merry Christmas to all, now that I think about it

The time to hire coaches is usually in January at the convention unless you already have someone in mind.

JohnB? will UCLA and Michigan have decided by then on Walker or English? Do you think Walker or English would accept a lesser role at their current assignments to keep from moving? I think either of them would be terrific, Walker moreso because he has already seen the PAC10 offenses.
