Washington has appeared out of its league in games against the upper echeleon of the conference during the first half of the season
UCLA, USC, Arizona, and now Stanford have spanked the Huskies in a way we haven't seen since the early days of Coach Romar. This makes it more than obvious that this team is now going to be going nowhere in the post season.
Last nights loss was especially tellling because it was on the Huskies home court. It was obvious from the outset that Washington was way over its head in this one. Stanford was led by Brook Lopez who scored a career high 31 points and also pulled down 13 rebounds in a dominating performance. For good measure he added three blocked shots, three assists, plus some stellar defense in one of the best games by a center seen at Hec Ed in many a day.
Junior guard from Seattle's O'Dea HS, Mitch Johnson had another steady night running his team from the perimeter. Johnson has done nothing but win since he was in HS. This kid is the glue that makes Stanford go.
UW fell to 12-9 overall and 3-5 in Pac-10 play and now hosts a Cal team fresh off an upset win of Washington State in Pullman.
