UW 17 OSU 10 end of first half

Oregon State came out and dominated the first quarter with a strong running game led by Bernard. 15 out of the first OSU plays were handoffs to Bernard as the Beavers took a 10-3 lead. The Beav's didn't give Moore much to do other than handoff to Bernard. The Huskies are being dominated at the line of scrimmage. Washington didn't click on offense as Stanback seemed to be pretty stiff from the onset. Braunstein hit a nice 49 yarder on one drive, and the Huskies weren't able to convert on downs on another.

Sean Canfield opened the second quarter at QB for OSU in a curious move and the Beavers next drive stalled as UW started moving Wallace up closer the the line of scrimmage. IS is still off as we start the second quarter and it seems to be his worst game since the first half of the UCLA game. Suddenly though the defense chips in with Scott White's third interception of the year deep in Bever territory. Have to second guess Riley. UW decides it is Kenny James time and he takes the ball down to the five, and IS then takes it in from there on the QB draw, UW 10- OSU 10.

Washington seems to have made some adjustments on defense which are starting to limit Bernards effectiveness. On the next series the Huskies force the Beavers to punt the ball away so momentum has changed. Washington still isn't in sync. IS just isn't getting the ball to his open receivers. He seems to be throwing the ball high and Sonny Sixkiller says it is because he isnt following through.

The Beavers start what is probably their final draft of the half by re establishing the run and starting to drive. Scott White makes his second interception of the game to thwart the drive and give UW the ball on the OSU 40. IS responds with a 32 yard pass to Ellis on the first play, then IS takes it in from the five again for the TD. UW 17- OSU 10

Around the Pac Ten the Ducks held on to beat the Bruins 30-20. Arizona outscored Stanford 20-7. WSU is playing Cal tough into the 4th quarter trailing 21-3. A lot less points in that one than I though we would see. ASU and USC kick off later this evening.
