I have read about the hit but am seeing it for the first time, and honestly, I really don't think it's that big a deal. Was the hit itself maybe a little too hard? Maybe, but when the defender starts his motion for the hit, Jake is still in bounds, and quickly nearing the first down. What is supposed to do?
I think you need to see it from the angle we saw it from. Jake was clearly out of bounds, had slowed down, and Wright popped him with his guard down out of bounds. In my opinion Wright had plenty of time to let up, and he didn't. It wasn't a tick tack call.
The officials called it a personal foul, but the question is should it have resulted in an ejection, or suspension?
There were some pretty questionable pot shots taken at Jake during the game.

Definitely a cheap shot in my opinion, although I don't think it justified a suspension or ejection...
I think Wright was pretty aware of where he was on the field in my opinion.
