Ed Donatell Press Release

This is part of what Ty had to say about Ed Donatell at the press conference.

Ed Donatell is an excellent addition to our football program and I am excited that he will be leading our defense," said Willingham. "He is an outstanding football coach with a great deal of experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. With his background as a NFL defensive coordinator, he understands what it takes to stop some of the game's most complex offensive schemes. I believe that his experience will translate well to our program and give our players a clear understanding of what it takes to excel at the highest level of competition."

Here is Ed's official UW Bio up loaded to the website this morning.

I had been wondering why he would have chosen to come to Washington, but I see in his bio that is wife is a grad of the UW. Never underestimate the power of a woman.

Now, more importantly, how do you think he shapes his staff? Who's staying and who's leaving?

Never mind the questions, I read that in his conference call he said he was keeping the staff as exists.

Hopefully we'll fill the offensive coaching positions soon.

He had an excellent coaching mentor starting out, DJ, plus he's had some good stops, worked with other good coaches. I like this hire. I'm anxious to watch his D. It has to be more fun than the D we've been watching the past three years and let's see if we actually get some players showing development on D

Honestly Ed Donatell is a great hire. I like him better than Walker from a technical standpoint. Ty had to make play for Walker because of recruiting, and he came close, but Donatell is probably the better game day coach.
I have to give Ty an "A" on this one.

Anoehter factor is he will mesh well with Tormey, Williams and Hart....that can't be understated.

We will see on the meshing...they have a little time to get to know each other
