Lieutenant Commander Philip Francis Queeg, USN, is a fictional character in Herman Wouk's 1951 novel The Caine Mutiny.
I am sure you have all seen the movie in which Humphrey Bogart does an excellent job playing the excessively paranoid Captain Queeg.
In the novel it quickly becomes apparent that Queeg is prone to eccentric behavior. Queeg displays an oppressive command style and is prone to unprovoked angry outbursts. From the first, he begins to make mistakes that endanger his ship. After refusing the assistance of his predecessor in command, he grounds the Caine on a muddy shoal his first time underway. He panics in a fog and nearly collides with a battleship, and passes the blame to his helmsman, starting a series of incidents that eventually results in a scripted court-martial and mental breakdown of the helmsman.
To be continued... .

oh wait! i thought you said "heisman (candidate)"... throwing players under the bus... johnny b, you've ostensibly got some inside info that you'd love to deliver, but would rather not air dirty laundry... although it would enlighten many fans.
wow, went over to DMan and saw the paranoia by the AD/football staff. My suggestion was to start a disinformation campaign and drive them nuts expending their time. johnb, it is getting harder and harder for me to support this regime, talk about a bunker mentality. trouble is, I really like the staff TW has put together this year. Seriously , I am going to really have to think hard about my TYEE contributions in Jan 2009. I could give it all to basketball, I suppose
PrrBrr.. I have to agree because
I really think it is sad because the community really would welcome the chance to embrace Ty Willingham.
You are right, it is totally bunker mentality. Ty is so out of touch he just doesn't get it.
It is a shame.
I like your style John, it's a shame that it totally depicts the situation you guys are facing...
